Improving your plugin – Changelogs

We’ve recently made some changes to help improve the communication between plugin authors and plugin users about the changes that are made between versions.

We feel that all software should have a changelog that details, at a high level, what changes have been made in each version so that the user can make an informed decision about when to upgrade and how much testing they should do with their site.

In order to make this an easy and open communication channel we have added support for a Changelog section in the plugins readme.txt file.  This changelog information is then displayed as a separate tab in the plugin directory and also in the back end of your WordPress blog when you view the details on a new version of a plugin.

The new section is formatted as follows:

== Changelog ==

= 1.0 =
* A change since the previous version.
* Another change.

= 0.5 =
* List versions from most recent at top to oldest at bottom.

We would also like to recommend that you also provide meaningful log messages when you commit changes to the subversion repository for your plugin so that people who want to dig further into your changes can see why things are changing (At the moment is seems a large number of plugin authors leave this field blank which isn’t very helpful).

Aion Enchantment Stones

There are three basic ways to enchant your gear in Aion. The first is using Enchantment stones, the second is using Manastones, and the third is using Godstones. The most frustrating parts of learning how to enhance is learning that they can fail and have negative side-effects on your gear!

Creating Enchantment Stone

Before you can use Enchantment stones, you must create them. In order to create them, visit a nearby General Goods Merchant and purchase Extraction Tools. One set of tools is used per extraction. In order to extract, you must Right-Click on the Extraction Tools and then Left-Click on the item you wish to extract from. There are some important guidelines! First, you can only extract from items that can be enhanced. These are your chest slot, legs slot, shoulders slot, hands slot, feet slot, primary slot, and secondary slot. Second, when you extract from an item, that item is destroyed. Do not extract from items you wish to keep or use, obviously.

Once you have extracted an item, you will receive Enchantment stones. They come in the form: Level # Enchantment. The level corresponds to an item’s level, not your level.

Greatest human achievement – 40 years

I just wanted to commemorate this anniversary and remind you all that today is 40 years since Apollo 11 crew landed on the moon and human foot touched another celestial body.

You know, I grew up reading science fiction. You can actually see the authors had the guts to dream of humankind spreading throughout the universe. I can imagine this very event had something to do with these writers being able to dream such dreams. I wish my generation or my children’s generation have something like this happen during their lifetime. With hopes of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moon landing with news of man standing on Moon again or perhaps Mars, I present you the video of the original landing:

Aion Abyss Points

Abyss gate

The Abyss is a region of Atreia located between Elysea and Asmodae. This area is reserved for higher level characters and end-game purposes because of highly desirable items and rare resources.  It is an unpredictable area, with new challenges and opportunities for victory. The Abyss also offers the best place to gain experience, since the creatures provide a greater bonus to the advancement of player characters than those found in other areas.
