Aion Holiday spirit

The Halloween event in Aion did not impress. Hopes for Christmas / New Year events were not high either. In stroke of genius NCSoft provided a giant piano in front of the Christmas tree in the capital cities for their Solorius Festival event. Since there is no ciontent like user created content, some great videos have surfaced featuring the aforementioned piano and some highly synchronized players :) . Here’s a few videos for your enjoyment:

Paid services announced for Aion and holiday break

As part of their “we’re going on Christmas vacation” post on the official site Aion community managers revealed what they are planning for Aion’s immediate future. One of the programs is the paid account service. For a small fee you will be able to change your character’s appearance, gender, name or your Legion’s name. The exact pricing and service info should be available in February, and the service is scheduled to become available in the first quarter of 2010.

There’s also a promise of new content updates (“a great deal of new content” is what is said in the post), but they are still not ready to reveal any details.

The support services will be working during the Holidays, and everyone else returns to the NCSoft offices January 4th.

Edit: Ah yes, the image of Mr. T in Santa clothes is provided to you completely randomly and has nothing to do with the news post itself. Yes, we are that cool (ed. NOT).

How to expand your inventory cube in Aion?

When you start, you’ll have 27 cube slots + 1 extra inventory slot for Quest item in your inventory bag. Although it may appear like a lot of space, soon you’ll realize that you need additional slots. You can expand your Cube by visiting a Cube Artisan in most towns or villages and paying a fee. Your default Cube, 27 inventory slots, is 3 rows of 9 slots.

When you expand your Cube to the next level you will add another row of 9 slots. Different Cube Artisans can help you to expand your Cube for 5 levels. When you raise your inventory Cube to level 5, additional rows can be added by quests or as a Veteran Reward. You can have a maximum of 4 Cubes: one default Cube and three Expanded Cubes.

Main Directions:

1st Cube :
– Row 1 (Default)
– Row 2 (Default)
– Row 3 (Default)

2nd Cube :
– Row 4 (bought from cube artisan in starting zone. Cost: ~1,000 kinahs, Level 1: 36 slots)
– Row 5 (bought from cube artisan in main city. Cost: ~12,000 kinahs, Level 2: 45 slots)
– Row 6 (bought from cube artisan in main city. Cost: ~80,000 kinahs, Level 3: 54 slots)

3rd Cube :
– Row 7 (bought from cube artisan in main city. Cost: ~180,000 kinahs, Level 4: 63 slots)
– Row 8 (bought from cube artisan in upper abyss. Cost: ~350,000 kinahs, Level 5: 72 slots)
– Row 9 (reward from quests “Unexpected Reward” or “A Lucky Day” : 81 slots)

4th Cube
– Row 10 (reward from the guest “Winning Vindachinerk’s Favor” or “The Legend of Vindachinerk” : 90 slots)
– Row 11 (Expand Cube Ticket from Veteran rewards : 99 slots)
– Row 12 (Closed)

3. The last Cube Artisan Jarumonerk is a little tricky to be found. Jarumonerk is located on Tigraki Island, but the Island is not on the map. The Island is located in the upper abyss. It takes approximately 70-75 seconds of flight time to reach it.

4. Quest A Lucky Day in the Sanctum at level 29 will give you an additional row in your cube. You should find Demodocos in Protectors Hall. After receiving the quest “A lucky day” you have to speak with Yiehmonerk in Financial District. This does not change the level of your cube, so does not raise the price of your next upgrade.

5. At level 35 you will have another quest The Legend of Vindachinerk. The quest is not complicated but the only problem is how to find Kohrunerk on Black Cloud island, because the island is not marked on the map. The Black Cloud island is located in the southern part of the upper Abyss. You can choose between two NPC to finish the quest. You get the cube upgrade regardless of which option you choose, but you have to complete the quest chain.

Black Cloud Island

The last step in the quest chain is to find Vindachinerk. Vindachinerk appears during specific hours of the day on the different locations (01:00-06:00, 08:00-14:00, and 16:00-22:00 game time) and has three possible location where he may appear.

6. The Aion Veteran Rewards program rewards Aion gamers for their time spent playing Aion. For first month you will receive a Veteran Reward, Expand Cube Ticket. You may claim one ticket per character, on each character on the account. Each character can expand their cube once, adding 9 slots. This does not change the level of your cube so it will not charged a higher fee when you purchased a cube expansion slot.

Asmodians

1. You can find a Cube Artisan Bacorerk at Aldelle Village in Ishalgen, but he can only raise your cube to Level 1.

4. Quest Unexpected Reward in the Pandaemonium at level 29 will give you an additional row in your cube. You should find Talon in Temple of Artisans to start the quest. After receiving the quest “Unexpected Reward” you have to speak with Nekorunerk at the Temple of Gold in Pandaemonium. This does not change the level of your cube, so does not raise the price of your next upgrade.

5. At level 35 you will have another quest Winning Vindachinerk’s Favor. The quest is a part of quest chain and there are two main problems: to find Black Cloud Island and NPC Vindachinerk. The island is not marked on the map and is located in the southern part of the upper Abyss.

Vindachinerk appears during specific hours of the day on the different locations (01:00-06:00, 08:00-14:00, and 16:00-22:00 game time) and has three possible location where he may appear.
