Although this title might sound to you like a joke, it’s not. According to The Telegraph newspaper, addiction therapists are creating their own avatars in online fantasy games such as World of Warcraft in the hope of treating youngsters addicted to virtual worlds.

With a little help from therapists, to youngsters who are spending too much time playing the game and have lost touch with the real world, will be stressed the detriment of their social lives and education. A recent report by Sweden’s Youth Care Foundation described World of Warcraft as “more addictive than crack cocaine”.

Blizzard and Legendary Pictures made an official announcement that Sam Raimi, director of Evil Dead and Spiderman trilogy, is going to be directing the Warcraft movie.

Whether this means we’ll be seeing upside down Orcs kissing insecure blonde Elf chicks remains to be seen. What everyone seems to agree on is that Bruce Campbell is sure to make an appearance somewhere.

The wife will kill me tho – she adores Brad and can’t stand me listening to Metallica all the time. To smear her wet dream with James’ ugly mug will be a reason to chase me around the house with a hatchet. Meh, it was worth it (grins insanely).

The official BlizzCon 2009 Fan Art Contest is back. Talented artists can work on creating Warcraft, StarCraft, or Diablo universe-inspired pieces of art. The artwork of the three winners will be displayed on the Blizzard.com fan art webpage, accessible through Worldofwarcraft.com and the Blizzard.com homepage. Winning entries will also be displayed at BlizzCon 2009.
